Llangollen Fringe

The Llangollen Fringe 2012 takes place from 13th-21st July.

No successful festival town is complete without its very own Fringe, and Llangollen is no exception.

From its very humble beginnings in an old weavers shed some 10 years ago, the Llangollen Fringe has developed into one of the most successful events of its type anywhere in the U.K.

Originally run during the week of the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, it has become so big that it now occupies 10 days immediately after the event and is still growing! In fact, the Fringe now takes place throughout July and into the beginning of August, making it the longest festival in Wales!

The festival's main venue is the impressive Victorian Llangollen Town Hall, which boasts its very own 300 seat capacity theatre and was the scene of the town's own music hall in years gone by.

This ensures the whole festival is town centre based, giving great access to local pubs, cafes, restaurants and especially car parks!

The festival has always had an eclectic bill of new and established artists from around the world. Past performers have included Cerys Matthews, Captain Sensible and The Damned, Will Self, John Cooper Clarke. A truly eclectic mix that inspires everyone to get involved includes punk, bhangra, rock, folk, flamenco, poetry, drama, art and film.
